Happy birthday to Cameron Thomas, Liberal Democrat MP for Tewkesbury

Cameron Thomas joined the Royal Air Force at 17 and served on various operational tours including deployment to Iraq, the United Arab Emirates and the Falkland Islands. In 2021 he was a member of the team that helped plan the British withdrawal from Afghanistan. He reached the rank of flight lieutenant before resigning to enter politics. Selected to fight Tewkesbury at the 2024 election, Thomas won the seat with a majority of 6,262 and a swing of 24.5%. He defeated veteran Conservative Laurence Robertson to become the first non-Conservative MP for the area since 1885. In the Commons Cameron Thomas sits on the Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee.
