Campaigning begins for the December 1910 general election

Following the completion of the final stages of the Finance Bill for 1910-11 parliament is dissolved and campaigning begins in earnest for the second general election in a year. Constitutional issues dominated what was a lacklustre campaign. Polling began on Friday 2nd December and the last results were announced on 20th December. Although a number of seats changed hands the overall result was little changed from the election in January with the Liberals supported by the Labour Party and the Irish Nationalists enjoying a majority of more than 100 over the Conservatives.
