Death of Francis Schnadhorst, a key figure in the organisation of the Liberal Party in the 19th century

As secretary of the Birmingham Liberal Association Francis Schnadhorst, together with Joseph Chamberlain, turned Birmingham into a Liberal stronghold. In 1877 he became secretary of the newly formed National Liberal Federation and was a key figure in the development and organisational success of the Liberal Party in the late 19th century.
