AIM25 initially began as an archive portal listing collections held by higher education insitutions located within the M25 area. Over the last ten years the website has been very successful and now provides access to archives held by more than 100 higher education institutions, learned societies, cultural institutions and livery companies. The site lists collection level descriptions only but entries can also include links to the individual archive service’s online catalogue (which will typically include a full list of the collection) and ARCHON (see separate page). The AIM25 project regularly contacts partner repositories to update the information on the site and indexing by subject, person, organisation and place are done to a very high level making searches easy. Their website has recently been relaunched to provide further information and to make it more user-friendly. It is a very helpful tool for finding sources in the London area.
