Death in a car accident of Sir James Blindell MP

Blindell entered parliament at a by-election in March 1929 gaining Holland with Boston from the Conservatives. That was to be the last Liberal gain in a by-election until Torrington in 1958. Blindel was re-elected at the general election two months later but later joined the National Liberals. Blindell was a government whip from 1932-35. The seat was held for the National Liberals at the subsequent by-election by Herbert Butcher.
