Foundation of the Welsh Liberal Party

200 Welsh Liberal delegates attend a conference at Llandiloes, Montgomeryshire. Under the leadership of Emlyn Hooson MP they found the Welsh Liberal Party, as a separate state party from England and Scotland. This brings about the modern day federal structure of the Liberal Democrats with separate state parties for England, Scotland and Wales.
