Death of Arnold Morley, barrister and Liberal MP

Arnold Morley represented Nottingham 1880-85 and Nottingham East 1885-95. After a brief period as Parliamentary Secretary to the Treasury in 1886, Morley was appointed Liberal Chief Whip during the party’s period of opposition. With the Liberal victory in the 1892 general election, Morley was appointed Postmaster General, serving in that post until 1895. Morley was defeated in the 1895 general election and retired from active politics.
