Death of Maurice Alexander, Liberal MP for Southwark South 1922-23

Alexander was a Canadian born barrister, later also called to the Middle Temple. He served in the First World War and later as a diplomat at the British Embassy in Washington. After losing in 1923 he fought again in 1924 but later defected to Labour, although he had lost faith with them too by 1938 and concentrated on his legal and business interests.
