Death of Sir William Sutherland, Liberal MP for Argyllshire 1918-24
Death of Sir William Sutherland, Parliamentary Private Secretary and Press Secretary to David Lloyd George (an early example of a Government spin doctor). Sutherland was also one of Lloyd George’s go-betweens in the sale of honours. He was Liberal MP for Argyllshire 1918-24 and served as Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster in 1922.
