Happy birthday to Monica Harding, Liberal Democrat MP for Esher and Walton

Before becoming an MP Monica Harding worked in a number of organisations in Europe and Asia. She was Director of Communications for the British Council and CEO of Refugees International Japan. In 2020 she founded the Britain Project, a convening space for progressives. In the 2019 general election, Harding was selected to fight Esher and Walton taking the party into second place and slashing the Conservative majority from 23,298 to 2,743. At the 2024 election Harding won the seat with a majority of 12,003. In September 2024 she was appointed International Development spokesperson in the House of Commons.
