Death in a plane crash of Robert Hamilton Bernays, Liberal MP for Bristol North 1931-45

Bernays was in sympathy with the Liberal Nationals but did not fully join until after 1935. He held office under the National Government in the Health and Transport Ministries but was probably most famous for leaving a diary of his years in Parliament between 1932-39, a colourful record of an exciting era. Bernays died while on a flight from Italy to Greece as part of a parliamentary delegation visiting British troops.
