Death of Frank Gray, Liberal MP for Oxford 1922-24

After defending his seat in 1923, he was found to have exceeded his election expenses. His agent was found guilty of corruption and Gray’s election was declared void. Gray had an exciting life after Parliament including driving across Africa from Lagos to the Red Sea. He died at sea and on return his coffin was carried on flower-decked fire engine.
