The Treaty of Paris ends the Crimean War

The Treaty, signed by Prime Minister Lord Palmerston on behalf of Britain along with allies Austria, France, Prussia, Sardinia and Turkey, confirmed the neutrality of the Black Sea Region following the allies’ victory and represented a significant setback to the ambitions of the Russian Empire and brought a conclusion to a bloody conflict in which half a million soldiers were killed.
