David Lloyd George on the League of Nations

David Lloyd George makes clear his views about the League of Nations and the USA. In conversation with General Bridges who said the League should intervene in the Russian civil war and Armenia, LL.G replied that the League was …a humbug and a sham. One of its main objects was the reduction of armaments yet…America, the protagonist of the League, is about to increase her army and navy to an enormous extent. The League is to apply to every nation but America. The League is not to interfere with American affairs but America is to have a voice in Europe. A strange position!
