Death of John Cledwyn Davies, Liberal MP for Denbigh 1922-23

Death of John Cledwyn Davies, Liberal MP for Denbigh from 1922-3. Davies stood as a Lloyd George National Liberal. He was a former Director of Education for Denbighshire, a professional expert rather than a career politician. The experience of fighting the 1922 general election against Liberal and Conservative opponents proved too bruising and he stood down at the first opportunity. He wasn’t ready to try again until 1931 but didn’t win (perhaps much to his relief).
