Happy birthday to Ronnie Fearn

Fearn was Liberal Democrat MP for Southport 1987-92 and 1997-2001. A noted local politician, Fearn served on Sefton Metropolitan Borough Council and its predecessor – Merseyside County Council for over 50 years. In Parliament, Fearn served in the Liberal Democrat Whip’s office and held portfolios for Transport, Health, Tourism and Housing. On leaving the House of Commons, Fearn became Baron Fearn of Southport and sat in the House of Lords until his retirement in July 2018.
